A Phenomenal Açai Bowl Recipe That’s Easy to Make

Chances are you’ve seen this treat before, though you might not have known it’s nearly unpronounceable name (it’s ah-sah-EE, BTW) . This Instagram-able bowl filled with purple juice, topped with colorful kiwis, strawberries, and bananas, and sprinkled with honey and coconut is a drop-dead gorgeous meal. But when you see it’s price tag (usually ranging from 10 to14 bucks), whoa, your wallet suddenly wants something cheaper. But no need to fear, frugalistas. We’ve got an at-home açai bowl recipe that’s ridiculously easy to make. Keep reading to snag the recipe for this stunning Brazilian breakfast.

Ingredients

ai mixture

½ cup açai berry juice (we like Sambazon)

½ cup apple juice or coconut water

1 teaspoon of honey

1 banana

½ cup frozen fruit (suggested: frozen strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries)

 

If you’re feeling lazy, substitute in an  açai berry sorbet for this mixture. We won’t tell.

 

Suggested toppings

Banana

Kiwi

Berries (Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries)

Granola

Honey

Chia seeds

Coconut flakes

Mango

Passionfruit

 

Step 1 – Add all the açai mixture ingredients to a blender.

Step 2 – Blend until smooth.

Step 3 – Pour the mixture into a bowl.

Step 4 – Top with your favorite ingredients and enjoy your refreshing açai bowl!
