What the fofo?!

LUNA fofo is an enhanced silicone facial brush, with a two-zone cleansing surface for every skin type. Its finer touch-points are ideal for larger areas like the cheeks and forehead, while thicker touch points target oil-prone areas like the T-zone and chin for a deep and precise clean.

Setting LUNA fofo apart are those two gold plates on the device’s reverse side. They’re state-of-the-art skin sensors, engineered to measure everything from hydration levels to skin type. A sophisticated algorithm then processes this feedback to reveal skin’s vital stats via the FOREO For You app, as well as deliver personalized tips and tricks for optimal skin health.

Getting Started

Say Hello to Your Smart Skin Care Coach!

1. Download the FOREO For You App

  • Download the free “FOREO For You” app for Android via Google Play; or for iOS via the App Store and set up your skin profile.  The app will invite you to create an account, and ask a series of questions to learn more about your skin.

2. Sync your LUNA fofo to the App

  • Hold the “ON” button for 3 seconds until it starts blinking. Then give it a couple of seconds to connect to the app.

3. Analyze Your Skin   

  • Remove all make-up and wash your face before you analyze your skin. The app will prompt you to analyze each section of your face with two sensors on the back of your LUNA fofo. Afterwards, the app will give you a detailed skin profile including your starting skin type, skin age and more.

4. Cleanse Your Face

  • Lightly dampen your face and apply cleanser to the skin or directly to the LUNA fofo. Use the LUNA fofo in circular motions and a vibration will prompt you to move to the next section of your face. It automatically turns off when the routine is complete!

5. Update Personal Routine

  • Most of you will see an immediate difference to the look and feel of your skin within a few days. Please repeat Analyze to update your cleansing routine at least twice in the 7 days after using LUNA fofo.

Every time you turn on LUNA fofo (even without the app) it will remember your last personalized routine, but it’s vital to keep this up-to-date for best results.

    I have been a FFF Member for about 18 months, (the Summer 2018 Box will be my 6th or 7th Box), and I am BEYOND THRILLED that we get to try the ‘Foreo’ Luna Fofo before anything be else!!

    I’ve tried everything and am following the instructions when attempting to analyze my skin, but it’s not working! I put the sensors on the various parts of my faceike the app says, but it’s like it isn’t recognizing that the sensors are on my face. It reads my cheeks, then gets hung up on my forehead and won’t analyze it. Help!!

      Hey Jennifer! Sorry to hear you’re having some trouble. The app released to FFF members is a beta version, so we’re still working on a few things. Make sure you have the latest version of FOREO For You downloaded, as we’ve just fixed a few bugs.

    Hey there! Trying my Luna Fofo today! The included instructions mention that all devices come with a usb charger, but none was included – how can I obtain one? Not crazy about batteries since they leak if not changed in time. It’s also asking for a pin to connect to my Bluetooth – will I receive a pin when the app launches?

      Hey Alexandra! LUNA fofo does not need a USB charger – it is powered by 2 AAA batteries. As for the app, check your updates and download the latest version 🙂

      Hi Danielle! Make sure you’ve got the latest version of the FOREO For You app downloaded. When you open it, you’ll arrive to the home screen. At the bottom, you’ll see a button that says ‘Connect’ – click it, and then you can follow the instructions to pair your LUNA fofo. Hope that helps!

      Hi Tahnee, it only takes a few seconds for LUNA fofo to analyze one zone. Watch the screen, the app will prompt you to ‘Remove LUNA fofo from skin.’ before going on to the next zone. If that still doesn’t work, check to make sure you have the latest version of the app downloaded. We are still working out a few kinks in the beta version released to FFF members ahead of the June 4th launch, so hang in there!

    Just received mine from fabfitfun! I love that we get to be part of the product launch. One suggestion however: please include a quick “getting started” guide in the package. I had a hard time finding the app (searching foreo was easy but the photo examples & description made me question whether it was the right one), and I have no clue what to do with the scratch off magnet(?) that came in the package. I don’t know what the number means – is it my serial number? Some sort of secret code? I just don’t know.

    I’ve also had quite a few issues with the app (though restarting it helped); I’m hoping it’s only because the launch isn’t official yet and there’ll be some big improvements coming soon! For example I analyzed my skin and saved the info to my profile – but now I can’t access the results anymore (I only see the water droplets on the face, not the detailed description). My UFO and Register UFO Warranty lead to the same page, asking to connect (not what I expected for either page). Home goes to a different “connect” screen. I’m looking forward to seeing how these improve over the next few weeks!

      Hi Moni, when turning LUNA fofo on, be sure to only press the button once. Holding it will put fofo into Bluetooth pairing mode.

Therefore, the manual is being updated as well, and as soon as the Luna Fofo gets officially released, the official, full manual will come along with it.

So I looked on the bottom of the device itself and those numbers worked (different than the disc numbers) so I’m super confused what the purpose of the disc is. Also when holding the device to my face to analyze my skin, should that be done with freshly washed skin? No makeup?

      Hi Kate! There are actually two ways to register the product 🙂 One is by using the serial number from the bottom of the device and other is with the scratch card code from the pink magnet. With this code from pink magnet you receive a special discount after registering the device.       About the Fofo device – yes, it is recommended to run the analyse on freshly washed skin, after removing the makeup 🙂

    I’m excited to use this little Luna fofo but while trying to register the unit, I scratched off the little circle, entered the number that appeared and the Foreo webpage said that my registration number is invalid. Also, after registering my email, etc., I could not log in, so I had to log in using Facebook. Will the customer service folks be able to get this all straightened out if I call them? Thanks.

    I see from previous comments that the silicon disc is the authenticity card with serial number. I scratched off the sticker and have tried to register my device and it keeps saying invalid number. The example on registration page says starts with an F, however mine is all numerical. I tried entering with an F in front and still invalid. The F number I have is a sticker on the bottom of the actual device and that comes up invalid too. My device and authenticity disc are different colors, is that why? How do I get mine registered and find the correct serial number?

      Hi Mike! No such thing as a dumb question 😉 On the bottom of LUNA fofo, there are two screws holding a white, flat panel in place. Remove those screws and the white panel, then you can replace the batteries before putting everything back into place. There are also illustrated, step-by-step instructions for this located on the packaging inlay under the device if you need.

    I have two questions. When I tried to register my Fofo with the number on the pink disk, it kept saying the serial number is invalid. So, I entered the number on the bottom of the Fofo and it took it. Will I have an issue with that later on since it doesn’t match the number on my pink disk magnet? Also, my Fofo will analyze my skin, but it won’t do anything once I hit cleanse and start. It just goes back to the cleanse screen like it is not getting a signal, but my other one starts to vibrate when I hit start. Is this a problem with the ap or the device?

      If your device is registered and visible under your user account, there is no need to worry, as everything is perfectly fine 🙂 you can register using either the scratch card number or the serial number from the bottom of the device, both are fine 🙂
      Regarding your second question, I would kindly suggest to try replacing the batteries, uninstalling the app, turning off your bluetooth and trying again – make sure to install the latest update of the app and to turn the bluetooth on before logging into the app 🙂

      Hi JoAnn 🙂 On the bottom of the device, you’ll find two small screws holding the white battery cover in place. Remove the screws and the cover, replace the batteries, then put everything back in place.

    Hi! I just got mine today but I was wondering because each 15 seconds it pauses and changes. Is it just changing the tone of the vibration or is the actual vibration changing?     I was able to successfully analyze my skin, however when I click start to cleans, the device does not start. I can not manually start the device either. I can only turn the device on to clean when it is not connected to the app.

    On another note – completely agree with having better “Get started” instructions. It was also very confusing given that the small Instruction sheet included referenced a charger and there was no reference to the magnet with the verification code.

There are a few updates coming before the official launch. Once the official version of the application arrives, all of the functions should work correctly, without any problems. The official manual will also be available shortly on our website. The magnet is actually a scratch card which you can use to register your device by following the link written on the card.

So then I deleted the app and reinstalled the app. I put half my age and a different skin type in, did the analysis again, and it said my skin was…you guessed it, half my age and was now a different skin type.       Hi, Patricia! In order to solve this issue, I deleted your existing registration, so you can now use the code from the scratch card on foreo.com/support.
      The reason this issue occurred is because the code from the scratch card is connected with the registration, so if you register the device first using the serial number from the bottom of your device, the scratch card code will show your device as already registered (which, in fact, it is). However, as I sad, I deleted your registration, so you can now try again using the scratch card code 🙂

    In case anyone has a similar experience: My wife got hers today, and the unit would go into vibrate mode, so the batteries seemed okay, but it would not light up at all to sync with Bluetooth. Once we changed the batteries, it immediately lit up and synced, So, all is well- check the batteries before despairing.

      Since the registration is connected to the scratch card, if you register your device with the serial number first, you will not be able to register again with the scratch card code as the device is, in fact, already registered.

    I received my fofo last week in my fabfitfun box. I was using it every day until yesterday when it started malfunctioning. Once the app came out I used it with that. Now when I press the button, it vibrates for 3-5 sec and then shuts off. I thought that maybe I needed to use the app with it to get it to work. I did that but it still shut off within a couple seconds. I haven’t used it more than 10 times.

    WHY didn’t this thing come with instructions? The writing on the packaging is not only in an place, it requires a magnifying glass to see both because of the size and color used to print it. Also…it would be nice to know exactly what this extra silicone round thing is for – why must we search all over the internet for an answer. And code? How on earth am I supposed to know by looking at it that it has a code for registration? Poorly packaged, no instructions. Sorry, but referring to your website is not sufficient. Not everyone has internet access and even if they did, no one wants to waste their time searching online to figure out how to use a product they bought. The difficulty and frustration in trying to figure this gizmo out are enough to turn me off this item as well as this company. I don’t even feel comfortable giving it away- why would I want anyone to give themselves a headache over an item which should already have the information with it?

    I got the fofo all paired up, did the analyze and then when it says “follow the next steps” to cleanse it just turns on and there are are no next steps to follow. It vibrates fast for a few seconds, then slow for approx 30 seconds, then fast for 30, then slow for 30, I am unclear on what I am supposed to do, Do i change sections with each buzz change? If so, I would think both cheeks would have the same speed. Or is this app actually supposed to walk me through the cleansing steps?

      However, when you finish the skin analyse, you can click on start button at the right bottom of the screen. The fofo will start with lower and higher intensities in accordance to the results of the skin analyse. Simply follow the instructions and change the skin area each time fofo signalise it!

    Just received my Luna Fofo today. I use an iPad with up-to-date software (IOS 11.4) and the App Store does not have Foreo For You … at least it’s not showing up from my iPad.

    I ‘ve read thru all the comments and it seems there is a LOT of confusion that could have been eliminated just by having instructions/information applicable to the Fofo device. For example, the very poor instructions reference a charger yet the Fofo doesn’t use a charger. No mention is made of the registration code and disk in the instructions, yet there it is in the package with the Fofo.

    I realize this is a Beta test; however, even a test version should be distributed with enough information to allow a reasonable person to use the product. The number of confused FFF comments is proof that you failed at this.

    Hi I am new to the box. And was so excited to join the fun, however I feel disappointed and maybe someone can help me. I ordered my box. I did the whole year deal. When my FOREO came in it was not the one that was promised I should of gotten the one that retails for 89.99. But I didn’t mine is the 39.99-49.99. So it was the smaller one. I know it is stil a wonderful deal but for my first box I feel like that is hopefully a mistake or I am really hoping that it’s not a shady situation. I saw every FB post and read all comments and everyone said when they opened their box the received the larger one that retails 89$. So what do you think? I have contacted them but no answer that was last week ago. And now for a tech question when I did the app and turned in my machine and linked it to the phone. Then I held it to my face to get the readings. The next page shows a face with numbers in it to show you how and where to start. So I do that, at the end I hit stop and nothing happens. Is that it? Should there be more? A little report or something Did I just get a dud for my first box I do sad☹️ Can anyone help this sad girl? What do you think should I just get out and forget the other orders

      Please know that the app is still a beta version and it will be changed and updated before its official release!

    I received my box today (6/14) and downloaded the “Foreo for You” app that is blue/purple. When I try to analyze my skin with the app it takes about 3 seconds to register each cheek, but then it asks me to press and hold it on my forehead and when I do that it either doesn’t register at all, or it takes a really long time (like 10 minutes!) then it says “Remove from skin” and then the screen just stays there and doesn’t change from “Remove from skin”. How do I fix this?

    When I try to connect UFO to app it just blinks and never connects. I went to the bluetooth configuration and it asks for a PIN. I have seen that you have answered this before “To remove pin requirement from the app, please check the Bluetooth options of your mobile, as the app itself does not require entering any pin to pair the device.”
    This is NOT possible, there is no option in the bluetooth settings to skip the PIN.

    I already uninstalled the app, installed the latest version, turn off the bluetooth, turned it on again and then tryiedto connect the device to the app. SEVERAL times.

    I also rebooted the phone several times.

    I’ve been having issues with this app since it lauched! I have already wasted a lot of time. I need a good answer and solution to this problem ASAP.

      Hi Tammy! The ticker bristles are dedicated for the T-zone, where the skin tends to get more oily, whereas the softer ones are for more sensitive parts of your skin 🙂

      If you are using the device together with the application, after the treatment is done, the device should turn off by itself. But if you are using the device alone, after the whole 90 seconds round the device will continue to work for 3 minutes. To turn it off, hold the “on” button for 3 seconds

    I received my FFF box with the Luna fofo. I used the verification code to register it as well as downloaded the app. I put all my information in and got started with cleansing but that’s where the app stopped making sense. It started with the cleansing routine but never finished. It went through each section of my face and the app says to follow the steps but the app never goes further than the initial cleansing steps and would allow me to cleanse my face forever if I didn’t decide to finally just stop.

    Is this a flaw or will the app be updated?

    I’m very disappointed with the Foreo Fofo that came in my FabFitFun box. I’ve tried many times to turn the unit on, and every time but one it would not start. I hate to think that you shipped out a brand new product with dead batteries! Also, in the instruction booklet it says there is a USB cable that comes with it, when it is actually battery operated. I spent about half an hour figuring that out. Now I have to find a jewelers screwdriver to take the stupid bottom plate off so I can replace the batteries. Very disappointing.

    I’ve been using this for a while. I like it so far. I am confused though, it’s said to give you tips about your skincare routine? Or something like that? After I wash my face it just goes back to the page where you see her face and you can click analyse and clean. I also don’t see anything saved for the history. Is there anything about the app we should know?

    Also, there are the little needles in the middle of the fofo and some on the very top. They have different texture. How do you know which part you’re supposed to use and where? I can’t tell what can be done to improve my skincare and if I am using my fofo correctly. Looking at a picture of the lady with the numbers isn’t helpful. Especially when the analysis doesn’t really provide feedback or stats to show how you are doing overtime.

    Is the app still in beta testing?

      Hi Bekah! What you need to do is connect your device to the Foreo app, not pair it with your phone. In order to do so, please log into the app, click connect and press and hold the on/off button for approximately 3 seconds. Your device will automatically connect to the app without asking for a PIN number

    I downloaded the app but am having issues with it. I was able to get it as far as the start cleansing screen where the diagram of the face is in 4 sections. I press the start button and the Fofo vibrates, quickly pauses to switch each section and then turns off in the 1 minute as it is supposed to. But the screen never changes. It stays the same and the start button is able to be pushed again and the Fofo turns back on again. But I can’t get any further than that. Then when I go back into the app, it wants me to connect me to hold the Fofo button down again for 3 seconds for it to connect again. Is this normal? Shouldn’t it already be connected to the app and remember my information?

    I received my Foreo FoFo with my FFF Summer Box. The batteries definitely did not last 400 washes as stated above. It’s a shame that the device is not rechargeable like my last Foreo. The fact that is barely lasts one month of washes means I will be spending more on batteries than the value of the device. It is also very inconvenient to have to unscrew those tiny screws to replace batteries and secure again. Also, when I unscrewed to replace the batteries it seems the top wasn’t secured because there was water inside the battery compartment.

    This is a good first run of the product, but definitely needs improvements.

    I like the fofo for cleaning my face, because it works better than my hands or a washcloth. That said, the app is kind of a joke. The analyze function determined my skin to be “37”years old, which I think is funny. I am 37, but I have great skin and look about 10 years younger than I am. I have zero wrinkles, good hydration, even tone, elasticity, etc. I suspect that the first time analyzing tells you your current age, and then over time with using the fofo it will “improve” so you attribute that to the device. Phony! Like I said, I still love the device, but stop with the gimmicks already.

    I was super excited to receive my fofo from my fab fit fun box, however a couple days after using it for the first time it stopped working. I unscrewed the fofo just to find out the batteries exploded insie of the device! And on top of that when opening the fofo’s battery port the bottom part cracked so I could not close the port back up properly, which is dangerous when using batteries of course. I went to see if I could do a warrenty claim, and I guess I can’t? I wasn’t sure how to go about it. But I’m pretty disappointed to say the least because I really loved this device

    I was pretty excited to receive this in my FFF Box (actually, it was one of the reasons I signed up for the box). I still cannot get it to analyze my face past my forehead, so it’s never worked (I have deleted and reinstalled the app more than a few times). And since the last number of comments are talking about the batteries getting wet and/or EXPLODING (to which you asked if she still couldn’t turn it on- really?) I guess I’ll count my blessings that it hasn’t worked.

      Foreo for you is available in the app store for ios 11 and later. If you are using an iPad, you need to choose “iPhone only” in the filters and the app will show 🙂

      The scratch card is used for registration, after which you can keep it as a cool fridge magnet 🙂

    I received my FFF box last week and right away my teenage daughter was exclaiming with excitement! She had seen a lot of great reviews for FOREO. Let me tell you, they were so right!!! It gently massages while deep cleaning your skin. Stubborn blackheads we both had on our nose even vanished. Also my 14 son, has terrible acne and we have tried everything including harsh prescriptions. The FOREO is the first thing that has ever showed any results!

    So my question is since we all use this little miracles can it be sanitized with bleach? Lastly I want to thank you because for the first time in 38 years my skin is completely clear and soft, with most of my scars gone to boot. With love from m Texas!

    I got this in my FFF box and so far I don’t get the hype. I can’t cleanse my face with only 4 10-second (max) cycles and I barely even feel the pulses. I end up using three full cycles to cleanse and, even then, meh. My friend’s stays on for 3 minutes and she says it’s powerful, which makes me think I’m doing something wrong. Are there instructions I can use that aren’t going to waste my batteries or my time any further? I get the thing was free but it seems like you would want us to tell our friends to buy one of their own.

      The cleansing cycles of LUNA Fofo are completely personalised according to your skin analysis – the Fofo remembers your last skin analysis and provides a perfect cleanse according to the results you got. Every cleansing cycle lasts for one minute – but the Fofo continues to work for an additional two minutes (3 in total) at which point it turns off to prevent overuse. We are sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the results, but please know that we would recommend using the device for a longer period of time (a few months) for best results! 🙂

    Got a fofo model in my fit fab fun box. When subscribing to the box it tells you your going to receive a rechargeable version. Shortly after my order i found it it’s not rechargeable and it takes triple a batteries. Given that fact that it was cheaper than in the store i was still excited even if i had to replace the batteries. I had previously received a Luna for a Christmas gift and was so excited to get it in my box. Once it came this model only lasted two weeks when it’s suppose to work for 400washes! The one i got for a gift was only suppose to be good for about 50 washes and lasted longer. Super disappointed.
