To those in the know, Cosmoprof Bologna is one of the biggest international fairs in the beauty world – and has been for 50 years. Our team is lucky enough to be attending Cosmoprime – the cosmetics and perfume-centered portion of Cosmoprof – and couldn’t be more excited by what we saw there.

The Best of Cosmoprime 2018

1.FOREO UFO

Turning your mask obsession into a 90 second facial treat you can indulge in twice a day, the UFO is the latest beauty product to make use of the latest beauty tech trend, LED light therapy. It may not look like any mask you’ve tried before, but by warming and cooling specially created circular ‘mask’ treatments made for morning and night, you can finally achieve your K-Beauty goals without wasting hours of the day with ill-fitting, sticky sheets.

2.Swiss Smile d’Or Toothbrush & Tooth Gel

Standing out from the crowd, Swiss Smile’s golden toothbrush has proved to be a crowd pleaser. Plated in  23.75 carat gold – no, we’re not sure what happened to the other .25 carat either – it has nine times the bristles of an ordinary manual brush. Alongside the gold-plated toothbrush was tooth gel with gold particles in it – a definite, luxurious departure from your usual minty-fresh flakes.

Apparently, gold actually has anti/inflammatory and regenerative properties and supports dental care in cases of susceptibility to cavities and gingivitis. Its unique formula also contains a physiological protein, which naturally occurs in saliva and helps to protect teeth from demineralisation.

3.Oh K! Hydrating Gold Gel Lip Mask

Was gold a theme of this year’s Cosmoprof? Who knows, but we were fans, especially of the Oh K! Hydrating Gold Gel Lip Mask.

While it may seem like pure decadence, gold is known for its complexion brightening properties, and the gold lip mask contains radiance boosting gold extract to keep your lips looking fab before you apply your boldest lipsticks. 

4.Automobili Lamborghini MEN’S CODE

Even if you’re not interested in men’s skincare, it would be pretty hard to ignore a bright orange Lambo in the middle of a beauty expo. Visitors could jump into the car for a selfie – reason enough to line up, IMHO, but also learn about MEN’S CODE – a new collaboration between Lamborghini and Swiss Prestige Cosmetics.

Apparently the skincare line uses “cutting-edge biotechnological substances with pure natural ingredients to provide skincare products that are perfectly tailored to men who are passionate about expressing their true essence” – so if you know a gentleman that’s really into his essence or fancy cars, you know what to get them for their birthday.

5.Philémon

If your man is a little less Italian house music and a little more homemade beard oil and fixies, then French male grooming and cosmetics line Philémon is probably their speed. They definitely had one of the most eye catching booths at Cosmoprime 2018 – a full bathroom in fact. Visitors could take a look at a ‘typical guy’s bathroom’ to put themselves in the shoes of the Philémon man.

With a focus on multi-skincare products that take you from shower to shaving and more and “abolishes the prejudices of male care and adapts to the constraints of modern life,” we wouldn’t be surprised to see these uniquely designed products on next year’s must-have stocking stuffer lists.
