A well-rounded physical fitness routine is a key component to living a healthy lifestyle. But we typically neglect to work out the very muscles people see the most — our faces. Just like the rest of your body, the more than 57 muscles in your face and neck require exercise to stay toned and fit. These simple facial exercises can help you strengthen facial muscles, get a slim face, and even combat signs of aging.


The Brow-Raiser

If you want: Lifted brows


Facial Exercises - Face Yoga


Perform this facial exercise regularly to keep your brows up where they belong:

  1. Put your index and middle fingers together in a closed peace sign
  2. Rest your fingernails over your brows and gently push the skin down
  3. Lift your brows up and down, while creating resistance with the weight of your fingernails
  4. Repeat 10 times
  5. Complete 6 sets

Tip: Add IRIS to your face workout to target signs of aging around the eye contour.


The Cheekbone Lift

If you want: Defined cheekbones


Facial Exercises to Tone Facial Muscles


We weren’t all blessed with Angelina-Jolie-as-Maleficent cheekbones, but facial exercise can help you get a little closer. Trade in flabby, fat cheeks for defined cheekbones by following these steps:

  1. Place your fingers over each cheekbone
  2. Gently lift the skin until taut
  3. Open your mouth to form an elongated “O”; you should feel resistance in your cheek muscles
  4. Hold for 5 seconds
  5. Complete 10-15 sets


The Chipmunk Cheek Squeeze

If you want: A slim face


Facial Exercises - Slim Face


Sculpt fat cheeks and an excuse to make a fish face over and over again? Sign us up. Here’s how to lose those acorn-storage pouches:

  1. Tilt your head all the way back and push your chin forward
  2. Suck your cheeks in as much as possible
  3. Hold for 5 seconds
  4. Complete 10-15 sets


The Jaw Flex

If you want: A toned jawline


Facial Exercises - Chin Exercises


A double chin can make you look heavier and older than you really are. Trim face fat and get a more defined look with this face workout:

  1. Tilt your head back until you’re looking at the ceiling
  2. Move your lower lip over your upper lip as far as you can; you should feel this in the jaw muscles near your ears
  3. Hold for 10 seconds
  4. Complete 10-15 sets


The Puffer Fish Press

If you want: Wrinkle-free nasolabial folds


Facial Exercises - Face Yoga


This facial exercise will help reduce the very un-funny appearance of laugh lines around your mouth. Here’s how:

  1. Close your mouth and puff up your cheeks
  2. Move the air from one cheek to the other
  3. Repeat for 30 seconds


Just like you should use a foam roller after a normal workout, use the anti-aging side of your LUNA to massage away any tension after your facial exercises.

    I have been getting fillers in my jawline, cheeks, and nasolabial folds for the past few years. For some reason the fillers only last a couple months. I was going broke trying to look more youthful..I started doing these and what an amazing transformation!!!     I am pleased to say I can see results from doing these and more exercises not on this link. Dare I say better than creams I have spent a fortune in al the top brands of QVC. but using both methods with these exercises I have has complements about how well I am looking.       Please note that each person can do the exercises and schedule them as they wish, you can make your own pattern and follow it. In addition, every exercise reflects different to different skin types or a person, as long as you are persistent you will see results. 🙂

    If you do the face fat loss exercise, can you regain face fat back if you stop doing the exercises. Also once you lost the face fat and then want to go in with toning, do you have to do the face fat loss exercise with toning and should I do this from the beginning of face exercising. But if I keep doing these exercises even after getting the results wouldn’t it take all my face fat and tone too much. Sorry I don’t know how to put things smoothly, it could make your head hurt reading it.

      Hello Rana, like the whole body, you need to keep the exercise going and keep you diet healthy in order to avoid fat in the places where you don’t like it. Keep in mind that you need to love yourself first! 🙂

      Hi Tyler! Good question therefore we relate this to the results you get from frequent exercise therefore the more you put in the more you get out but do not over do it. Everyone is different so results will will become visible at different rates. I hope this helps

I don’t know if this is working or not i still don’t have that much of a slim face. and the cheek bones aren’t starting to appear yet nor are many of the other things. how long will it take if my face only has a double chin and no cheek bones? do i have to keep doing it for a year or 4 months for it to start appearing?

      Dear Emma, Thank you for your post! Like most things exercise is different for everybody, results are different and peoples body shapes are different. Therefore the same principle is the same regarding the facial exercises and if you bump into someone who you have not seen for a while…. be sure they may see the differences that you couldn’t.     Hey so I’ve been doing jaw exercises for four months straight and it made my chin narrow and all the fat in my chin disappeared . And chin also became shorter . Will I regain it if I stop doing it ?

      Hi Roma, If you do not like the effect that the exercises are causing then its best to stop. Like most excises its all about the upkeep so if you slack in the routine we are sure you will get back your previous appearance.

      Hi Phoebe, Everyone’s results come at different paces so we would recommend little and often see great results. The best thing to do is take a before and after photo of one-month apart and you will be surprised in that short time frame at the difference!
