Two beauty influencers,  Maddie Edwards and Ruchi Page, share their interesting skincare journeys with FOREO

While it’s important not to compare ourselves too closely to others, because everyone’s experience is different, it is good to remind ourselves that we are all in this together. When tackling skin issues it can be easy to feel isolated, so as we continue our battle against society’s unrealistic standards of perfection, we spoke to beauty influencers Maddie Edwards and Ruchi Page to share what they’ve learnt on their skin confidence journeys and how they feel confident in their own skin.

Maddie and Ruchi inspire their followers with positive messaging and by being their authentic selves. Ruchi Page is proud to be aiding growth within the beauty industry and creates conversations with her followers about paving her own way with belonging and acceptance. Maddie can often be seen bare-faced and brave, discussing tough topics that she wants to help normalise and empowers her followers to love the skin they are in. Let’s take a look at their stories:

Tell us about your skin confidence journey!

Maddie Edwards:

I’m 26 years old and I still suffer from hormonal acne and I get eczema on my face as well. As an adult I think it’s quite easy to feel alone and isolated, so I started to post my bare skin on Instagram. I realised I’m not alone, a lot of people are going through the same thing that I am and it’s absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about. Ever since I realised that, I just feel so much more confident and positive towards my skin.

Ruchi Page:

As someone who journeyed from having balanced skin as a teen and still feeling the need to cover with makeup to experiencing congested skin as an adult; developing skin confidence was transformational. You’ll see me rocking a bare face most days, simply because it feels great to be in my bare skin.

Which is your favourite FOREO device and why?

Maddie Edwards:

I’ve been using FOREO for about two years I would say, and if I had to choose, I would say my favourite is LUNA Mini 3. This bad boy has come everywhere with me and I just can’t ever imagine cleansing without it.

Ruchi Page:

It’s hard to toss up between LUNA 3 and the UFO devices. But I think LUNA 3 takes the cake. It has 16 intensity levels, so I can customise the device to my skin’s needs. This is brilliant as my skin can be clear on a Monday and congested on a Tuesday, so having different intensities allows me to cater to those specific concerns. I always know my face will rest on my pillow makeup, dirt and oil-free.

How has FOREO helped to improve your skin?

Maddie Edwards:

Having eczema and acne, my skin really looks dull quite easily. I’m always trying to achieve that glow without having to use any harsh cleansers or scrubs or anything that’s going to irritate my skin further. My FOREO LUNA Mini 3 really helps my cells turn over how they should, and everyone always comments on my glowy skin. Even if I’m breaking out, it’s still healthy and glowing and functioning how it should, which is just so amazing for me.

Ruchi Page:

It’s made such an impact on my congested areas. The pulsation technology that deep cleans the skin has kept my pores clear of dirt and build up. I have noticed a significant difference in how often my skin breaks out and that’s been so refreshing.

What are your top tips for feeling confident in your own skin?

Maddie Edwards:

I’ve got two tips. My first one is: treat your skin like you love it. I know it’s really easy to feel like you hate your skin and almost punish it when it’s not looking the way that you want it to, but you have to treat your skin the way that it deserves to be treated. And my second tip is, and this one’s massive, it took me 26 years to realise, but: nobody actually cares what your skin looks like. And if they do, you don’t want those kinds of people in your life anyway. Everybody’s dealing with their own stuff. Everyone’s got things about themselves that they’re not that confident in, and they’re too busy worrying about that themselves than to worry about what your skin looks like. Plus, I don’t know about you, but I don’t make friends based on what anyone’s skin looks like or what it’s going through, and if anyone does do that, then that’s just really weird and we don’t want that in our lives anyway! So pretty much just love the skin you’re in, and live the life you’re livin’.

Ruchi Page:

Know that your skin is a part of you and YOU are valuable. Just like every part of our body, our skin has a purpose and experiences changes. When we accept that changes are okay and that they don’t define who we are, that’s where you can find that happiness and contentment. Our skin protects and heals, it has a huge job to fulfill being the largest organ and I love it for that exact reason. My second tip is to nurture your skin with care. When we assist our skin by keeping it clean, hydrated and replenished it’s a way of saying thank you for all of the hard work our skin goes through.

It’s no secret that when you feel good, you look good. Confidence is contagious and we want you to put your best self forward and embrace your own skin this summer.  Click here to discover the best LUNA device for achieving your healthiest skin this summer!
