What is this oil-attracts-oil logic? It is basic chemistry that makes oil cleansing possible and super effective. Non-polar bonds prefer each other. Oil molecules lack an electric charge, and similar chemical traits in other oil molecules make them merge easily and reject water, a polar molecule that pushes non-polar oil away.
So basically, oil molecules prefer clinging to other oils. The thing you’ve seen a million times where oil and water don’t mix - this is the reason why. If someone has managed to mix oil and water (for longer than just shaking it and waiting for it to separate), there were emulsifiers (basically detergents) involved, as that’s the only way to bypass this rule of chemistry and keep these polar and non-polar molecules mixed.
